The CCNA (Implementing and Administering Cisco Solutions) course builds foundational networking skills in IP fundamentals, switching, routing, security, and automation, enabling you to manage and troubleshoot modern networks and prepare for career roles as network operators, administrators, or support engineers.

CCNA Course Outline

1. Network Fundamentals

  • OSI & TCP/IP models, network topologies & devices
  • Ethernet, cabling, physical connectivity, switching basics
  • IP addressing, subnetting (IPv4 & IPv6), VLANs

2. Network Access / Switching

  • Switch configuration, VLANs, trunking, STP
  • Port security, EtherChannel, switch stacking
  • Wireless fundamentals (WLAN, AP modes, basic wireless security)

3. IP Connectivity / Routing

  • Static routing, default routes
  • Dynamic routing basics (OSPF, possibly EIGRP depending on curriculum)
  • Inter-VLAN routing, routing between networks

4. IP Services

  • DHCP, NAT, DNS
  • Quality of Service basics
  • Network monitoring, syslog, SNMP
  • IPv6 foundational services

5. Security Fundamentals

  • Secure device management (passwords, SSH, ACLs)
  • Basic firewall / perimeter security concepts
  • Layer 2 & Layer 3 security (port security, ACLs, etc.)

6. Automation & Programmability

  • Introduction to network automation concepts
  • APIs, REST, JSON, small scripts / network device programmability
  • Configuration management tools, infrastructure as code basics

7. Hands-on Labs & Troubleshooting Practice

  • Realistic network topologies to configure switches, routers
  • Fault insertion and problem solving
  • Combined labs integrating multiple modules
